What you’ll do as an Enterprise Architect, Principal Consultant:

Our Enterprise Architects are part of the Technical Design/Architecture Capability within the UK Advisory Group. Working in close collaboration with our client’s business and technical stakeholders, our Enterprise Architects take on a varied role. Typically, our EA’s design, implement and maintain architecture models, including operating, governance, and value models. A key part of the role is building and developing lasting relationships as well as communicating complex technical concepts, ideas, and models to both technical and non-technical audiences. Our EA’s are creative problem solvers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Enterprise Architecture, ensuring its alignment to the client’s strategy.

  • Chair workshops and working groups and ask insightful questions to retrieve information from key stakeholders.

  • Develop reference architectures applying expertise in Data, Information and IT security.

  • Design Business Architectures / Technical Services Architectures / Model based architectures, typically in complex government landscapes.

  • Capture Information Exchange requirements to generate Information Models & Information Architectures as well as Data Models & Data Architectures.

  • Generate high quality documents for projects as well as bids/proposals, applying strong written communication skills.

  • Work with the wider Design Team to develop & document the maturity of our Architecture knowledge, artefacts & collateral within the UK Advisory Group.

  • Provide mentorship, support and skills-transfer training to develop colleagues.

  • Act in KBR’s best interest and demonstrate our core competencies of; drive, flexibility, building relationships, communication skills and self-motivation.

What are we looking for?

This is a permanent role within our UK Advisory Group. We consider flexible ways of working, that allow the best outcomes for our people and clients. Working closely with our clients is key to successful outcomes, and so travel across the UK using public transport or driving is a requirement.

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of providing high quality consultancy and/or architecture support to decision makers within the public sector.

  • Proven technical expertise of shaping enterprise architecture strategy and leading adoption in government / blue chip organisations.

  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships and be able to influence senior client stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and colleagues.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, UK Government security Requirements, options, and migration approaches.

  • Experience generating Data Models, Data Architectures, Information Models, and Information Architectures.

  • Demonstrable understanding of complex IT Security requirements and their impact on architecture design.

  • Skills, qualifications, or experience of using Architectural Frameworks (such as DODAF, MODAF, TOGAF, or similar) as well as ITIL.

  • Eligibility and willingness to undergo relevant UK based security clearances (SC/DV/NPVV3).

  • Willingness to undergo random drug testing.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a diverse & geographically dispersed team.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload to meet objectives & deadlines.

Desirable

  • Current UK government clearance at SC level.

  • Knowledge of ISO standards and their wider implication for ICT integration.

  • Experience of MOOD Software (or equivalent) or ability to learn quickly.
