Ive been doing CRM Consulting for the last 3.5years, this involves Siebel technology, but the majority of my role has been in either as a BA or pre-sales trying to win work over the last year., but ive gone through the full project lifecycles 3 times and led a team, and had a go at pitching to clients - quite a lot in a short time space. However ive been "rolling up my sleaves" gettings involved but now I really want to move into pure play business consulting involving strategy. If this was in the realms of CRM, it would be easier to transition, however im open to all and anything involving business consulting, as opposed to the technical consulting.Im more interested in where a business is and where does it want to go, even whether it can and if so, how is it going to achieve this (strategy?). I dont have a MBA yet, but i do intend to do one, but i want to get a position that enables me use these skills to then compliment it with an MBA.What i'd like advice on is:Should I start shooting my CV out now, or should i wait until next summer and i'll have 4 years with my current employer and by then hopefully the market is more stable. (i guess im safe in my job as consultant grade - still "cheap" or what i believe a cash cow for my employeer)What would you advice, i currently work for a big Systems Integrator/Consulting Group now, but should i move into industry or continue with the same size and shape of my current employer? - bear in mind this is my first employeer since uni.Any advice on where i can look for junior BC position, or how i could tranfere into another sector?Would you adive on small niche consulting practices or start to 'brand' my CV out before going to the niche players?Thank you in advance peopole.
