I am a procurement consultant with a large IT outfit and have worked in the pharmaceutical area, facillitating the buying and selling of drugs to various companies and governments as well. An opportunity has come up to implement something similar in bogota, columbia. My skills and interests seem to fit well with this job; and the international experience seems good too.I am genuinely interested in drug delivery and procurement, and would like to help countries that need a better delivery system as well.My question is what the readers think about an overseas assignment such as this ( duration 6 months). Is spanish necessary? Business is conducted in english, but i guess most people in bogota get by with enough english? How are the expat facilities? Will south american experience look good on resume ( as compared to say BRIC countries)?

You want to be a drug procurement consultant in Colombia?"buying and selling of drugs to various [entities]""I am genuinely interested in drug delivery and procurement"Surely you're on the wrong forum? I'm not even sure an online public forum exists for what you seem to be alluding to.If you're successful (and you don't get caught or die in a shoot-out RE: Senor Escobar), you won't need a CV and with some smart investments, you'll be set for life.

Of couse, columbia needs a better drug delivery system...as does mexico ( especially near the border with texas). Its the envy of the world...no expensive IT systems required...all done by cheap labour ( thanks to accentures and IBM's outsourcing best practices)...just one little problem: the cargo flowing through the system is all illegal.

I asked an honest question... Tell the likes of SAP that they should not target pharmaceutical companies for their e-procurement solutions....and microsoft and a host of other reputable companies too.As a prev reviewer indicated, if I wanted to manage a pack of drug mules, then I would have simply gotten the likes of ACN or IBM to assist me in outsourcing this activity.

smuggling in afganistan eh? what system did they use- a fancy ERP system with lots of accenture consultants? or IBM consultants perhaps. I am sure the strategy and change consultants at IBM encouraged the 'farmers' to , um, diversify their product offering and cross sell their goods in order to reach a wider market. The street was expecting this announcement; the stock prices of all the world major terrorist agencies rose on the announcement.
