Looking through all the 'bashing' going on - would be interesting to turn things on their head a bit.... I'm interested to know :1) Which firm (not current employer) you'd consider working for ?2) 3 reasons why ?who knows - may even bring out some positives !

Just glad to be out of the consulting industry to be honest. But perhaps my perceptions have been jaundiced by my experiences in the most reviled consultancy around.

The trouble s that process mapping, gap anlysis, configuration management, information management, change management all that 'good' stuff are ok when you in your earl twenties an like travelling around in taxis and hotels. However you soon get to realise that the work becomes very easy and need a bit of a challenge and then realise that you are too generalist to work in industry at an equivalent wage. I still don't know how the Mck lot manage to get into senior management positions in industry after being a generalist for so long.Any answers?

Old boys network - seriously. Most McK guys have at least three of the following OBN's to work when they make their way outside the firm.1. Private School2. Oxbridge or Ivy League3. McK itself4. Ex McK alumni5. Ex clients with whom the have a personal CxO level relationshipJealous? Me? Too right. Blame them? Not a bit.
