Fresh Job Seeker
19.05.9 00:00
Hi all,With the recent spate of redundancies, I'm interested to know peoples experiences in finding employment in the current market. How long have you been searching? How many applications/interviews did you apply/attend before obtaining a job offer?Did you settle for a lower position/salary?Thanks.

Sure, I am/was engagement manager in Tier 1 firm moving to a boutique, I'm a Financial Service specialist. I'm not saying easy out there, but things are moving. Good luck to all looking.

Its no wonder that your job hunt was a short & sweet process.I think it'll be harder for those of us from Tier 2/3 firms though

Not so - if you're in a tier 2/3 firm you're more likely to have hands-on business improvement experience (and realistic salary expectations). Both are in high demand in the job market. In contrast, those leaving "tier 1" firms are in direct competition with all the ex-bankers who are targeting the same jobs, with similarly 'hands-off' experience.

I am from tier2 and have realistic salary expectations. Where is the "high demand"?
