What are your thoughts on PWC'S healthcare practise? I heard they are quite good, got health research institute going, have a good mix of ops ( mainly IT enabled HC), and strategic HC ( holistic HC delivery models, preventive HC delivery models, etc)...well staffed in locations and has good coverage globally.

i heard they are good. Its not easy getting into. To get a job there, you really have to know your stuff as they not only consult with very smart ppl ( e.g. hospital CEO's), but also produce a lot of research reports. I guess the key to getting in will be network ( those jobs wont be readily posted). Obviously, your chances are better if you already are an employee of pwc.Slary, i cannot say for certain, but i am suuming its market, depending on subject matter knowledge, professionalism, work ethic, comm skills, etc

In the UK, market penetration's been limited by PwC's involvement in PFIs and PPPs - initially the corp fin involvement limited PwC from bidding on consulting work because of conflict of interest. Then, when the deals went tits-up, reputationally they had difficulty building credibility in the healthcare market. Currently, marketing output exceeds actual work done or won by some way, though in the longer-term PwC are likely to start winning work off the other accounting Big4.
