I am in desperate need for advice!!!A bit about my background...I graduated in May '08 with an Economics degree from a top US college. Will also start a Msc in economics at LSE next year. I've been working as a consultant in Global Transfer Pricing (in US, with Big4) for the past 6 months. Will continue until the end of my first year. Afterwards, I am planning to switch to MC, IB or PE (something more exciting, challenging, entrepreneurial). Does anyone know if such a move is possible? Have you heard of other people who did it? Any other thoughts and advice?Thanks very much in advance!!!

Your year of experience in transfer pricing won't constrain you, but that is mainly because you'll need to start at the bottom again anyway if you move careers.Your year in transfer pricing will add to your general work experience credit, as long as you can clearly demonstrate that it was just a temporary job. If you want to position that year as something more serious, you'll need to explain what it was about the job that made you realise it wasn't for you (i.e. a reason that doesn't make you look flakey). That isn't an insurmountable barrier though, by any means.
