Have they begun yet? Which areas are most likely to be hit?

None yet, and none coming up as far as I am aware. Recruitment has been stopped for a number of groups in BAS - although not all. Business is good, albeit with an over reliance on government...

BAS was always bloody awful. Now it's just bloody. Government really is the only BAS area with live projects, and even then not enough to support utilisation over 50% for the government consultants. It's painful to see all the other groups fighting tooth and nail for any chance to work on local authority back-office process mapping. EY always had a nasty culture, but it's turned positively hellish. The shivs have been taken out and firmly sunk into fellow convicts' backs. If enough people don't commit suicide soon to get out, I wouldn't be surprised if the camp guards don't start taking people out and shooting them.

BAS never really got off the ground, tbh. When it started off BAS brought in some big names from IBM, ACN, and CG, but few of these partners managed to sell much.Pay rises in the Autumn were pathetic, and the quality and quantity of work is falling off by the day.I don't know if it will be any different anywhere else though.

Here we go again,Having working in BAS (not FS bit) for 2.5 years I disagree with some of the above comments1) Sales are good - we have a very small bench and in some areas we don;t have enough people to staff won projects2) Culture was good but seems to be heading south - I would say now average with still a way to go before bad3) "Pay rises in the Autumn were pathetic" - agreed and no bonus etc - Jam tomorrow again (even for those promoted).4) From what I can see partners performance on sales is very mixed the directors are selling lots5) "BAS never really got off the ground" - second biggest offering in E&Y Don't think we will see much in the way of redundancies in the next few months (I think we are the only Big 4 not currently cutting people).

"Don't think we will see much in the way of redundancies in the next few months "They started in F&PM in early December, but not something our partners want to announce.

If we're talking about the non FS F&PM team then I think you need to differentiate between redundancies and being managed out due to underperformance, as (if true) it's much more likely to be the latter.

I only wish they would “manage out” some of the IBM alumni that were promoted or brought into F&PM over the last year or two. Talk about management being promoted to the level of their own incompetence.
