I have been told that EY have started advising people in certain areas that they are at risk of redundancy

Yes a few people I have spoken to were given very little notice (ie told on Friday and finish up early February) but am sure its been done correctly as they wouldn't been seen to be doing the wrong thing. Although one or two of them haven't been given a proper consultation, just an envelop with paperwork to read, not very supportive

Which sectors are affected? F&PM has been very quiet for the last six months, so this is a good chance to give some of the IBM inner circle the shove. They are all overpaid, and hugely arrogant. That’s fine if they could sell good quality work, but they have now proved that they can’t. Good riddance to them…

Looks like our dearest partners have heard about this thread, and are not best pleased. I see that none of them are coming on to deny the rumours.Oooh, that warm and caring IBM management style again: “You are a number. You should thank me for letting you sweat your socks off to make more and more money for me.”Noyce

What world do you live in? Why would you expect partners to log onto an anonymous internet forum to defend against accusations made by a bunch of new grads looking for their first job? They have nothing better to do?If there are redundancies being made, they will be subject to formal consultation periods -- and any disclosures would come from a press relations office after having been vetted for compliance with relevant law.

Your quite correct, all of us at AP and above are speaking to our contacts in other houses right now, we have no time for this sort of thing. Partners, AP, women and children first.

I wonder if EY will move to a 4 day week, like KPMG.That way they don't risk losing quality staff to competitors
