Anyone have advice for me? Im with a smaller consultancy at the moment, no big 4 on the CV yet...These WCM roles look interesting and I am specialising in this area with my current clients and doing well.. (public sector - previously finance) not desperate to move but you see Ernst & Young are hiring and you take note! Thoughts??....

If things are going well, then I'd generally say stick where you are.However, given that you're asking the question, you're obviously not entirely happy. The question is then to what extent do you want to work for a Big 4 firm in order to arrive at a specific goal, and to what extent do you think you "should" do it.You could do worse than arrange a conversation with E&Y and then make a judgement as to how much you'd be losing and gaining by walking away from your current situation.

I suppose feel that I should want to go Big 4 at some stage, theres a question in itself - is it really something I ought to do, I am year 6 of my consulting career and havent worked for any big 4 (or close to it )consultancies as yet but have gained good experience with some good clients, enjoyed it and been paid well with a good balance of work/social/time away from the family and so on..so why change??!! am i better off with my current employer (supportive, and i suppose smaller means friendlier and certainly allows for creativity/intuition in its people) Will E&Y give me something better/more?

Simply no. E&Y - Dont do it, I am an ex WCM Consultant (Advisory), I'm about to/hope to take my skills and knowledge to Axon (larger/interesting/multi-sector projects) where I am totally convinced I will be better rewarded and have the job satisfaction I craved after several unhappy years with E&Y.
