Coming in to my 3rd year in consulting now and intending to do an mba in a year or 2. I'd like to have moved into finance but that seems unlikely given the current climiate so looking at 'industry'. My experience i in energy so specifically been looking at companies like shell and bp and wondering how a post-mba career there (or other undustry firms like P&G etc.) compares to consulting?Potential to make a lot of money? Good career progression? Interesting work?!

Making money - start your own business thenGood career progression - depending on how bad you want it, work 80 hours a week and play the politics right and you will progress even if you work as the janitor in any companyInteresting work - ummmm now you got me depends on your personality and what you find interesting, I personally find consulting not interesting since my intention is to start my own business and I sometimes thing consulting kills ones enterpr... spirit so go for whatever you want but at the end I still think answer to questions one is the answer to Q3

I think a move into industry would not be a bad move, if you have consulting experience you can always go back at a later date and sell yourself in at a higher grade with the industry experience and mba behind you.
