Guys, I need some advice... I haveBachelor of Engineering (Computer Science)Master of Science (IT) from Down UnderPhD (Bioinformatics) from Down UnderI have decided to leave research and was planning on moving into management consulting, but now I have an opportunity to do MBA from a top Uni in Down Under. My question is, would this (extra) degree be worth the effort, not just to get into management consulting, but into the business world in general. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't think the MBA would be worthwhile. You'd be better to get a few years of work experience under your belt, particularly if you're aiming for a consulting career.

Sorry, an update on my situation...I am currently working as a scientist for about a year.I am the guy who dreams of going places, running companies as COO and CEO and making a good amount of money. So, now would this MBA help me to reach these places?

Work experience will be more helpful at this point in your career. Without this, options after MBA may be limited, and you may not get as much out of the MBA either.

Thanks anon. I intend to to my MBA part-time while still working full time as a scientist. So I guess there is not much to loose.
