the comment about ex IBM is true for some parts of BAS (i.e. those run by ex IBMers!) but not all - there are large parts which are not run by ex IBMers - having said that, there is a very definite working style in BAS and if you don't fit with that working style, you don't fit..

Hi there,Would you be able to expand on what you mean by definitive working style, as I was thinking about applying. I've worked in other consultancies and I've always found there to be a distinctive working style in the more "pure" consulting side of the business than the techie side which tends to be more easy going.

Well certainly within F&PM, the place is run by ex-IBMers, and they seemed to be the only ones promoted in the last promotion round. Our senior partner is so keen to hire ex-IBM staff, that he even brought in a director from IBM, who was still on gardening leave, to run the recruitment drive this Summer. The problem is that all these IBM’ers have brought their horrid cold political ways with them. If I wanted to work for a tech house, I would have joined EDS or Accenture.

To actually answer your question regarding benefits and salaries, see belowSnr Manager car allowance £5.5kPension is based on salary sacrifice and the firm will match contributions up to max 6%Private Health (dependents not included)Salaries can range from £80k - £150k depending on who you are and where you have come fromEY does not have a bonus schemeRegarding culture, it is very different from the rest of EY and well known internally that if you don't fit the mould, you won't fit in to BASHope this helps
