Depending on your seniority in consulting, you may be able to get a "manager-grade" job in industry, but off the bat won't get P&L or people management responsibility - you tend to move into a "individual specialist" role in an area aligned to your consulting background then demonstrate your abilities working within the organisation, build your networks, etc. and can then gradually move into roles in the "general manager" stream. Alternatively, if you're working within a large organisation in industry, you can stay within "individual specialist" roles for quite a while as you work your way up.
