I currently have two job offers on the table. One with IBM S&C and one with ACN in their Capital Markets practice.Has anyone worked in one, or both of these firms and can give me some idea which is best and what the differences are?

obviously accenturei like accenture. entering my 3rd year here,so i guess i could still be a niave junior, but i have found it to be excellent. colleagues are smart and ambitious, managers challenge youto develop.obviously someone else will disagree.

Both big, both immensely successful, but ACN has a distinct edge on brand and exit options. On exit options alone I would advocate Accenture; the only really strong people I have ever seen coming from IBM are the ex PWC cohort. I'm not kidding you Confused - if you send me your cv in years to come with IBM on it, I'll ignore it.

Overall, Accenture has the better consulting brand; IBM has more opportunities across the business.IBM S&C is a better practice than ACN Capital Markets - in relative terms, you may get better personal mileage from being at the top of IBM than from being in the middle ranks of ACN.You didn't mention where you are within your career. The comparison depends on whether you're looking for a career launch pad, a stop-gap, a path to partnership, etc.

Sorry for not so related question? How would you compare Roland Berger on resume vs. IBM and ACN ? (I have an offer from Roland Berger and not sure at all what would be the value for resume)

Interesting. That's like comparing Sainsbury's to Ford.

Bad analogy - Sainsburys have turned a corner recently and are a tidy little company whereas Ford is widely regarded as being on its knees with 6 Billion in the red in 2007. Either way, I wouldn't work for IBM or ACN unless your defintion of a good place to work is a meat-market bodyshop. Find somewhere better.

Is Accenture not just sacking 20% of its UK workforce?
