I have been working at accenture for 1year on my placement, but have found IT consultancy is not for me. I have been offered a grad. role when I complete my studies but want to rather apply to different consulting firms.Would I being at accenture it consultant help my chances or limit my chances as I have done IT work??

Hi PNP,I would expect that a one year placement in an IT consulting role at Accenture would not prejudice your chances of ending up working in management consultancy if you spun it correctly in your applications/interviews. I reckon the way to go is to state that you enjoyed working for Accenture and learned a great deal, but found the management consulting aspects of the role much more interesting than the technology side. If you sell it as an informed choice based on your experiences, then it could stand you in good stead.Best of luck.EC
