With the amount of Patrick Bateman wannabes on this board I thought I might consult you for some aftershave/eau de toilette advice... So what smells good on the young, ambitious professional these days?

Napalm! Pah! You would most probably not know the smell of mustard gas on the other side of the planet at any time of day (not then or now!).It's a tough question. Frankincense was a top answer. Whoosh. It's not only festive, as even in a crowded market it can work. Mown grass is IIIIII or even better /////////. A good smell. Hmmm. It certainly has to be about when and where. Who? or How it's packaged? Not sure.Leather shops and gluey cobblers shops keep me on my feet. Actually aftershave doesn't do it for me, and the relevance of recent threads is very low. Was that a time of the week thing? Can't we leave this to other professionals?

Thanks for that ---You gave exactly the response I anticipated actually! Although allow me to guess that you were not expecting me to take credit entirely for this virtual insanity. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest ! (book and film about a place without sufficient consultants fixing problems in it)Any thread that starts with --- and ends in Aftershave advice by Toilet Water has got to be nuts from start to finish, or should that be the other way round?

Generally, I don't use aftershave as it's a little vulgar in my arrogant opinion, but if you really feel that you have to then I recommend gun oil.Seriously.The smell of Hoppe's #9 and fresh bore fouling has just the required mixture of machismo, lust-provocation and exclusivity.EC

My personal choice is a decent creosote. I usually go for Ronseal.
