It sounds like you have the credentials to miss the automatic first stage C.V. cull. However, if there is nothing magnificent that makes you stand out, there is a real risk that, after a closer inspection, MBBB will be too bored by your application to take it very seriously. MBBB are used to ridiculously talented candidates. Being averagely brilliant means that you just have to absolutely nail all the bits that banking interns (with a PHd in nuclear physics and who've founded their own e-business etc) might be a bit blase about. For example - the covering letter - dont just ham out the usual "i like consulting because of the range of skills it develops and the diverse industries I will be exposed to etc etc..." This is the sort of pre-packaged boll*cks that 90% of candidates will espouse and 95% of them will get canned. Be origina, take a few risks, over-emphasise your extracurriculars, and most importantly of all be supremely confident. MBBB want intellectual leaders, you have to assume your good enough to apply - its an exclusive club, and you have to think you are more than good enough to get in. Also, this is getting ahead of yourself a bit, but if you get an interview, become a case-study machine. Literally hours of these every day or you will not stand a chance. Ned
