I have an offer from KPMG risk advisory services as a Senior Consultant. Can anyone give any view from the inside (either current or previous) on the culture?- Decent people or ultra-competitive/political?- Reasonable working hours?- Likely frequency of travel? Is most FS work based in London & SE?- Fun factor?Appreciate its totally subjective, but since I don't know anyone there, this is my best chance to get a view of what it might be like to work there.

Loved KPMG when I was there, but I think all the Big 4 are broadly similar, and culture can vary significantly between departments.I did have a chat with some mates from other big 4 firms last week, and everyone sort of had the same views on the stereotypes of each one:PWC - big & powerful, but you can get lost in the crowdKPMG - young & cool, but perhaps more bark than biteE&Y - exclusive & high class, but a bit drearyDeloitte - driven & smart, but watch out for internal politicsAlso, Sunday Times recently did a 'top 20 big companies' piece, worth checking out.

Search the threads, KPMG seems ot have many good points on staff engagement, brand, T&Cs etc, but also some negatives on low pay, churn and recruiting practices

I've been at KPMG for a few months now and I love it. Good people, not overly political compared to some places, reasonable working hours and a clearly defined career development structure. That's in my department, of course... I hear that over in risk advisory it's constant backstabbing and the senior consultants work 18-hour days ;-)
