Hi all,I heard rumours that Bain have laid off a lot of Senior Associates (2+ years out of undergrad) and are recinding offers. Has anyone heard similar rumours or can confirm? Thanks, John

A false rumour and from now on I am going to seriously start questioning the other rumours I read on this website.....

well, i know there have been some targeted "voluntary" severances in some consultancies recently... so if I were at Bain or anywhere else - and I was not in the upper percentiles I'd begin to worry a little bit (or else look forward to the severance package!!)

As far as I am aware McKinsey, BCG and Bain are still working at near full capacity and still actively recruiting. Maybe some of the projects are shorter term and more far afield but that is as far as credit crunch has gone at the moment.

Johny boy, that is simply not true. Concerning other strat houses: most of the people in my network confirmed that they (tier1, tier2) are still recruiting. Perhaps a bit more strict or slower but definately no lay offs.
