is this really a question for a consultants forum? where can a woman buy a suit, basically? female consultants don't need special 'consultant suits' which only other consultants can source... anyway, the answer to your question is you get them from Edna Mode:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edna_ModeNo capes!

Hey poopster, very funny (actually not being sarcastic). This is not the place for such a question but let the lady ask! The male version of the thread has been taken seriously. Diss both or none.

The other thread (43400) is unisex. Let's move the convo there rather than having unnecessary duplication.

Austin Reed, Jigsaw and Zara are good places to get good, fitted suits which will look great and last a bit longer. You could also try John Lewis and selfridges as they stock a whole load of diff ranges at diff prices.Remember that just because you're a consultant, you don't always need to wear a suit at work - dress to match your clients, and, most importantly, dress to feel comfortable.

I like Reiss... Nice cut, looks sharp, different options for style of trousers / skirts / jackets... On the expensive end, but worth it me thinks...

try to avoid suits with trousers which make your bum look fat. Especially black trousers unless you want to look like a waitress. Go for a knee length skirt or better a dress.

I am pretty interested in the gender aspects of this thread.Thread 43400 is solely about men's clothing. I guess that is the true meaning of the word "unisex", so perhaps that's what Poopster meant. There is a clear trend on this forum for male interests and questions to be taken fairly seriously (in as much as this applies at all here!) and for female posts to be dis'd - even when on the same issue.Perhaps I'm misreading it though - have these posts nothing to do with gender but are just a subsection of the self-appointed forum police, ensuring that spelling is corekt and threads are below 9 posts?

Women in suits? They should be wearing micro mini's and flaunting what god gave them. Why cover it up in a suit?

Deacs - I think the point was that the thread about men's suits was (quite rightly) ridiculed. For someone to followup with another thread of the same ilk, so soon, when they had clearly seen the reaction to the men's suit thread, was idiotic. Regardless of poster's gender, mindlessness will always be mocked on this forum.

"they should be flaunting what god gave them"god, why are nale management consultants incapable of innocent, non flirtatious conversations with the women at work? I spend most days trying to dodge dodgy conversations with lusty men who seem to have fogotten that they have WAGs at home. Boys (and i mean boys) wise up at work and concentrate on getting some work done.

Sorry to disappoint you Germaine, but the some of your sisters (if my current project is anything to go by) dont seem to have any problem at all "flaunting what god gave them" in an effort to get ahead. It comes more naturally than than working hard and delivering value to the client. It is actually quite sad and painful, but still occasionally amusing to observe after a while

Please don't make generalisations based on the women in your current project.

"I spend most days trying to dodge dodgy conversations with lusty men who seem to have fogotten that they have WAGs at home. "Yeah right, you wish. What really narks you is that life isn't like you thought it would be when you read Corporate Whore's blog and thought it was all true.Get over yourself and stop trying to distract from your own incompetence. Fact is, nobody could care less if you turned up to work naked as long as you get those damn tables aligned in PowerPoint (and as long as you don't have a client meeting).

AAt the risk of responding to a mocking re mindlessness, the thread about men's suits attracted 3 or 4 sarcastic comments but was overwhelmingly well supported and appeared (to me) to be taken seriously. Was I missing something? My point stands re gender - still looks like double standards.

Sorry 'another anon' but I have to agree with 'she never wears a suit' on this one...It is pathetic how flirty male MC's are, every day! Consultancy does seem to attract more than its fair share of that certain type of man - overly flirty esp when away on client site!
