Can somebody tell me how a resourcer with 2 months experience achieve a "top 7" award in this years Top Consultant awards by sending the link to all of his mates and getting them to complete it on-line? The resourcer in question is Mandev Virdee of Consulting Point? I know that he is useless and I wouldn't even let him qualify one of my candidates never mind manage them. I think this highlights how Top Consultant favour certain firms that spend lots of money with them - maybe we shoud rename the awards "the agency that spends the most money on Top Consultant" awards? I look forward to hearing your thoughts

Chris - the awards are exactly what they say on the tin. They are for recruiters who have amassed the most significant positive feedback from readers of Top-Consultant and who have also not attracted a barrage of negative comments. There's no suggestion that the awards highlight the recruiters who have amassed the most experience in the industry or have the best contacts with consulting firms. They simply reflect recruiters who are perceived in a favourable light by our readers. As regards questioning my integrity you're onto a loser there. In case you missed the point, Consulting Point (who do advertise a lot with us you are right) didn't rank as highly this year as they did last year - and were overtaken by two recruitment firms who've spent very little with us in the last year. So if the report were all about buttering up our biggest clients and giving them a helping hand, why on earth would we publish something like that?Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

Consulting Point going down !!!!!!

I must say I was very pleased to read Tony's comment that ranking for Consulting Point has gone down !!!I think it is true reflection of what Chris has said in the first post as well as my own recent experiencne with on of their recruiter who is a director in the london office. Very unprofessional behaviour.I must say in consulting (and recruiting) industry things are visible sooner or later. It also explains why Consulting Point is putting so many advertisements? Do they have so much real demand / business in otherwise bad economy situation? If consulting point recruiters reading this thread, take a tip or two from the discussion here.

Donot forget to read another thread which is specifically on the "Experience of using Consulting Point"I can defnitely say all these posts clearly indicate that the recruiting consultant companyConsulting Point seems to behave unprofessionally with the candidates and most likely with their recruiting clinets as well.Think twice before you take their services.I donot want to write the name of the recruiter I had bad service with but am more than willing to share the details in my own network.

I don't see how all these different people can possibly be complaining about bad service from any recruitment agency. The role of the recruitment agency from your perspective is a very simple one: set up an interview for you and give you a shot at getting a job. Either they do that or they don't. What else are you expecting? Somebody called Jeeves to chauffeur drive you to the prospective employer and offer you a sherry when you arrive?

Chris, if you have opinions about someone you may want to think twice about posting them on an open forum. The comment about defamation was right.

Chris - Don’t be such a bitter loser. Maybe, just maybe, he in his 2 months has created a better network than you and asked the candidates that he has done a good job for him to vote for him - Seems like a good way to get CV's through the door in the future - Just a thought.
