I just thought I would vent some frustration.I applied for positions with BCG and Bain in early march. It was always ambitious and I'm not really surprised that I didn't get an interview.However, the fact that neither of them bothered to respond at all, is, imo, very poor form. I know that they get lots of applications, but as they have automated application processes, I don't think it is too much to ask to simply send out a pro forma 'thanks, but no thanks' letter. Is this behaviour industry standard? It certainly would not be considered acceptable in the legal industry, which is where I came from.

I went for second round interview with EY BAS last year, and never heard a word back. No responses to emails or phone calls. From what I've since read on here though, it sounds like a pretty horrible place to work anyway

I had my assessment day at a Big 4 earlier this year ..and I was offered the job exactly 2 hours after I left their building...talk about efficiency.

Usually they reply, but in case of rejection it takes months to hear from them.

Sadly this type of behaviour is too commonplace both amongst consultancies and recruiters, (who are particularly prone to losing interest if they can't 'flip' a quick commision).It's laziness and bad manners only that drives this type of behaviour, so, if their website says 'we will give your application cursory consideration, fail to respond to you for a long period of time and then refuse to provide any explanation', you will know what to expect. However, if the company claims any better standard of people management you should feel free to 'name and shame'. We all only stand to benefit. Rant over, and BTW, I have found most companies to be curteous and helpful.
