That depends. With grammar like that are you seriously going to a top tier firm?

Tricky question..depends on performance orientation, interview appraisal and personal experience. Likley to be commensurate with the prevailing market conditions I'd suspectZB

variable,Yes I am. Apparently grammatical pedantry on internet forums wasn't a pre-req for the job.

Excellent. Much better sentence structure. Grammatically pedantry, along with most other kinds, IS in fact a usual pre-requisite for top tier strat houses.Seriously though, it's hard to even give a ballpark figure without being too vague, which would be pointless. What are your expectations?

Well that should equate to around £40K per annum, so probably about right yes.

variable,I'm currently a second year analyst at another firm on 35k so my expectations would be between tnhis and 10% more. 40k would be ideal but it's more the experience I'm looking for than money. Just wondered what to expect/ask for

Thanks maths pedant. If you were really concentrating you'd have noticed that this wasn't a random figure. If anon was able to work every hour in a year, (although not physically possible, an illustration of the fact that the strat house will expect him to work a lot of hours,) he would earn circa £43K. I rounded that down to the nearest £5K for ease. £40K is also a sensible figure to be looking at in his position.Anon - I'd push for the forty mark if possible. You don't want to be relying on bonuses at that level at the moment. Can't believe no-one picked up on the "grammatically pedantry" mistake on my second post. Expected that to draw a comment from some smartass.
