The same position - Strategy Consultant. What to choose: Deloitte or Accenture? What is better in terms of reputation (UK) and future career prospects?

Anon,I know that you are boring to answer similar questions so many time. However, you are industry veteran and your opinion is very valuable. Would you be so kind to help to choose between ACN and DTT in the strategy consulting field?

They're both equally terrible. Put either name on its own on your CV and it'll look medicore. Put either name in conjunction with the title "strategy consultant" on your CV and it'll lose all credibility. Anyone who knows consulting knows that neither firm offers a true strategic capability so making the claim marks you out as either a fantasist or an idiot.

Must choose, I think the response from Wize should be a rewritten:They're both equally; put either name on its own on your CV and it'll look good in the industry. Put either name in conjunction with the title "strategy consultant" on your CV and it'll be fine within an industry role. Anyone who knows consulting knows that neither firm offers a true strategic capability so making the claim marks you out as possibly being overestimating yourself while applying at a tier1/2 strat house. With good results within Acn or Deloitte you can still earn/accomplish interviews within MBB or others. Landing a job at a strat house is still depending on your skills, not on your previous employer. In general, without wanting to land a job at a strat house, I think Acn is perceived as more 'IT' than DTT.Wize, what's your definition of 'true strategic capability' ?
