In general it will be difficult (EA is quite different from strategy), but your chances may improve if your doing EA work that is related to strategy work. For example, SAP has a module that focuses on supporting the strategic planning process... so if you focus on that module, you will be developing some skills in that area and can use that to possibly make a switch.

Dean Coogan,You appear to have gotten a graduate job at a respectable company, and for this I congratulate you. However, the fact that you believe 'anon' to be a name shows that you managed this only through some stroke of luck that defies belief.Best of luck for the future, you really are going to need it to continue.

Dean, you have absolutely no chance of getting out of EA.Do you know how many people join Deloitte "IT" [and audit] divisions but want to switch to "strategy" or "management" consulting divisions? If you were anywhere near the appropriate calibre, it would have been picked up at the assessment centre. It's too late now. If further evidence were needed of your unsuitability, see your own posts above.

Mate, get off your high horse - people are here to advise and highlight your naivety. The chances of making the switch to strategy at entry level is virtually nil, because, as per previous comments, every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to switch as soon as they get in. Yes, it does happen, but in very, very rare cases. If you really want to move over to strat, your best bet may well be to ride out the first two years and then switch to another firm and emphasise any strat-aligned work to the max.And before you pipe up about my credentials, I'm starting with the green dot (TI) this Sept.

Speaking five languages is useless if you don't have anything intelligent to say in any of them
