Keen to hear perspectives; I am returning back home after a 2 year OCM contract role for a large int. concern (have 12 years experience in consultancies and externally - HR & Change). Previously I was Exec Consultant at Atos.Would like to hear where people feel one would pitch ones expertise as I am out of touch - partner, associate further down the chain? What tack would others take/suggest in my situation?

Why return to UK? There are better places in world to spend your life.the country is going downhill and has no future. Economy is bad, no industry left and service industry will eventually follow the manufacturing. You get increasingly less value for your money and hard work. Thin again..Good Lucka Consultant

Really?Fallacy buster 1 : there is actually some manufacturing in the UK (state of the art aircraft carriers, upmarket boats, aerospace, I could go on). True we have got rid of a considerable amount of low margin stuff, but who wants to be a coal miner with a canary in a cage these days!Fallacy buster 2 : There's no future in the UK. Public sector waste held to account, a higher level of interest rates (so you get more value for your money), again this is not an exhaustive list. Fallacy buster 3 : It's all downhill in the UK- is it? I'm fed up with this government (many people are), but once we boot them out there is some real cause for optimism. Not least a chance to cut out some of the waste in the Public sector which you'd have to be card carrying member of the communist party to ignore. It could be a great time to return, but do not expect it to be a bed of roses or for it to be uncompetitive.

HH, Bobby,Thanks - compared to other area of the globe, the UK is top of the pops. Sorry if you feel that is naive but I am there. I do agree it's a tough market and London is no easy road.Any others with comments insights?
