On a similar note, I'm currently working as an MC but have been thinking about becoming a pilot. The only thing is, I'm terrified of flying. Do you think it is possible to be a pilot but avoid flying if possible?

so let me get this right, you are a doctor, and you have decided the best place to come and ask for what really amounts to medical advice, is a bulletin board used by management consultants, and us IT charlatans as ZB likes to refer to us?

It is highly unlikely that you would be able to avoid meeting sick people. Unfortunately the very purpose of being a doctor is to help those that are sick get better through effective diagnosis. I just can’t see how you would be able to avoid meeting the very people your job requires you to help. However, I may be wrong and am happy to stand corrected.
