I'm a final year student in law at a good uni in australia. Also have a commerce degree. I'm considering my options once I finish uni, and I'm trying to place consulting, pay wise, in the scheme of things.My options/interests are consulting, big law firm, investment banking. I know IB pays through the roof, but I'm not too keen on the hours they work. I know a graduate lawyer gets around $65k. (I'm in sydney), but I have no idea what a first year consultant at say, LEK or ATK (don't think McKinsey et al is realistic for me) would be paid. I'm not asking anyone for exact numbers, just how it compares to the lawyers and bankers.Before anyone starts, salary is not my only concern, just one factor affecting my decision which I'm trying to get some information about. I know its a mainly UK forum, but I don't think there is an Australian equivalent. Would appreciate any responses.
