Recruiting and retaining capable people, keeping them interested and rewarded.The focus on billable hours is driving people from the professions. Who joins a firm to bill the most hours on a timesheet? And which client cares what you're recorded on your timesheet. Its all about value, baby!

Depends where you're at (continent)....Mostly, global credit crisis causing cutback of contract signing (and excesive aliteration).Retention of skilled professionals, shortage of work, cutbacks....But yeah, you should totally know these things.

Malpractice lawsuits are right up there, as is competition from faster-moving rivals among the Big-4 accountancy firms consolidating their networks and leveraging the resultant efficiencies to service multinational clients.
