What do you guys think of the work they do at KPMG BAS? Do feel the work they do is truely consulting? ZB of course you don't!It's interesting as it gives you an ACA but I'm wondering where it will lead... a bank or a management consultancy. I'd prefer the later I think.

Both KPMG and EY BAS profess to be consultancies.Are you saying they differ from the massive Audit divisions only in name? Why would EY and KPMG complicate their structure in this way?EY BAS supposed "failure" is a debated issue from what I've read on here, why are you so sure it's not doing well?

It will certainly lead you to IB if you get 1st time ACA passes and FS experience, however management consultancy (ie MBB) it will not. Possibly more operational/ IT consulting. Numbered - you clearly don't know. Even if it was purely audit, it is still a fairly clear path to IB, assuming what I mentioned above.

It rather depends what you mean by IB - if you mean deep back office in a non-BB firm, then fine. Otherwise, it's a fantasy - IBanks hiring auditors happens only once in a blue moon at the top of the bubble; it isn't common practice.To improve your chances, you could try to switch into Corporate Finance at KPMG or another of the Big-4 once you had a couple of years PQE. FS Audit alone is unlikely to be a differentiator.

I'm not aware that KPMG has a BAS (Business Advisory Services) service line. There's the very broad "Advisory" grouping of services which includes everything from CorpFin to IT. Otherwise, the line they are promoting and hiring heavily for at the moment is RAS (Risk Advisory Services). This is a subset of Audit, focussing on the risks inherent in the audit findings.

Sorry I should have been clear that I'm referring to the Irish operation, given what you've said the structure must differ.
