Hi all just wanted to know if anyone here has either worked, working or knows much about Shell’s internal consultancy division. What’s the work like, pay / benefits compared to oil/gas practices at consultancies. Look’s like an interesting opportunity but would find it helpful if anyone knew something substantive.Thanks very muchProspective oiler

Have worked with these guys in the past. Pretty good people. The work will be interesting (you will have to know the industry though, as the work is very operational and the internal clients are demanding as hell). You will be knee-deep in internal politics and I would advise you to find out more about the Shell culture - as an internal consultant there's no place to run to.

I don't think they will be able to lure MBB candidates (I have come across ex-Mckinsey types in the BUs but not in the internal consulting team). Salary should be pretty good though and the work will be interesting. Also, keep in mind that you will be very marketable to most consulting firms after a few years at Shell (Shell is a client of most of the better known firms).
