I have a job offer from another firm, and want to leave PA as soon as possible. What is the earliest date that I can resign from PA without losing my bonus? Is it April 1st, or payday on April 11th?I don’t want to ask my CTL, in case PA withdraw the bonus in advance

When the money is in your account then resign. Cash is king.

Soon 2B - Do you mind if I ask you why you are leaving PA and whether you are a C/PC/MC ? I am interested in applying for PA - I got very helpful insight from this forum and hence would also like to get your view of PA.

Resigning now won't make you lose your bonus assuming you serve your month's notice and don't leave immediately (which would be idiotic). You'll be paid all amounts due to you on leaving whenever you leave, they won't screw you.

Hold on

The one thing PA are clearly terrified of is any litigation, not paying someone a bonus due for the last calendar year which has been communicated and is to be paid imminently may leave them a little bit exposed. Who cares anyway, only a week to hold on which is surely not worth any hassle in chucking your notice in.

My letter says of my greatly reduced bonus (I work for BOP) - “The award will be paid subject to your continued employment with PA, and not having resigned as at payment date”. To be safe, I plan not to resign until the day after pay day.Got the letter sitting in my laptop bag. Oh, how pleased will I be to join a decent consultancy ?

A question close to my heart - how worried companies are about litigation re bonuses. Many of my ex-colleagues believe that no mainstream consultancy can afford to be in litigation for any length of time as they have to declare any case on all tender applications etc.Must apply to PA too.

Would this not be an employment tribunal issue though, therefore not declared as litigation (which is designed to spot consultancies who are c*cking up jobs)

PA is so scared of litigation it's not true. All the rules and lawyers floating about are a ruse, they have no real power and all they do is write rules to try and cover themselves in the event of legal action! PA is a zero risk company, so if it means avoiding court cases they will do so at any opportunity.

We had a lady in BOP resign a few days before bonus payment recently. Our luvvelly partners tried to take the bonus from her, but her line manager got the decision reversed and she was paid. What wonderful caring partners we have in BOP. Its what makes it such a great place to work

"What wonderful caring partners we have in BOP. Its what makes it such a great place to work"Nothing new there then, same as when I left. The senior management team was/is extremely weak (probably weaker given some of the departures) in terms of delivering their own initatives, selling meaningful + interesting work and making effective uses of people's talents.Leaving was one of the best things I have ever done, seems like quite a few others share the same view given the attrition rates.

Just curious as to what are the most popular destination for those leaving PA. Deloitte, Contracting and a High-End role in a Public Sector are the ones that I have observed. What are the other trends ?

By way of information, is BOP just about the worst, intellectually unfulfilling, technically most unchallenging department of any consultancy or do some ACN department stoop to deeper darker depths?ZB

I realise that this is old news now but please let me correct you on this point. The consultant in question resigned a couple of days before her bonus was due to be paid. Our HR advisor asked if we wanted to apply PA's standard policy in this instance and withhold her bonus. We said no, we wanted it to be paid. if you want to see the email exchange that relates to this then please let me know.
