I have been offered a graduate position by EDS, I can select my preference from business analyst or project analyst. The positions are not in London the choices are Sheffield, Newcastle, Derby and hook. Realistically I would like to be living and working in London after working with EDS for around two whether this be with EDS or not. What do people feel the better role would be in relation to my career, long term employability, my options upon exit and of course long term financially. Also does anyone have any options on EDS, their graduate schemes and the locations? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi, I did my graduate program at EDS. I went on the Project Analyst path and that has led me to a Project Manager role. Both the BA and PA role are pretty good, but the PA is focussed more on delivery whereas BA is more in the analysis, requirements gathering, etc.Location wise, in Hook you'll be working on a Defence client, in Derby it's Manufacturing, Sheffield and Newcastle I think are both Government clients. As for your long term prospects, dont worry too much about that now, just make sure that whichever role you're in, you are constantly developing yourself....the rest will fall into place.Hope this helps.

Who deleted my answer to this post. The original poster posted the question twice, and I posted a reply, and now it's gone. Have I missed something?

I was also offered a place on the EDS graduate scheme. I got this notification at the end of February but I've still not been offered a date and location. It's so frustrating that there is no real information about when I'll get this information, so I just have to keep applying for other jobs. Can anyone indicate a realistic waiting time based on their experience with EDS? I don't know if I should give up and devote more time to finding another job or if it's just a matter of waiting a little bit longer.

Of the four place I would go for Hook. The defence business is growing and starting to get involved with other related government bodies and foreign markets. Some big stuff developing in the ME like UAE and Saudi and grads will most certainly get chances to play big roles if they're capable.A 50 odd minute ride into London, but you will actually be able to afford to live within walking distance of work if you wish - not something that can be done in the City. The grad scheme is being redeveloped, last few years have not been great so the grads have put effort into fixing it and it has been noticed. The defence grad community has been acknowledged to be pretty good. Generally your immediate project and line management give you the best opportunities - you get out what you put in.The recruitment side can be slow, how quickly you are offered a location depends on what you want to do and how flexible you are in locations.
