hi guys,I wanted to ask those of you who have completed/will complete their MBA about the chances of a guy working within the back office of an investment bank to make it into a top ranked B school.1) Is it possible?2) Do I have to work doubly hard on my application to prove my worth?3) Will an MBA help me get into a front office role ?Any help appreciatedThanks

Hi,I'm currently doing an MBA at HEC Paris. Yes, it is possible to enter a top B-school whatever your job (assuming you have sufficient education) In fact that's what schools are looking for: diversity! This is one of the greatest benefits of an MBA program. The most important criterion is your personality. Do you have potential? Do you know where you want to go? Will an MBA help you in that way? I let you answer the 1st 2 questions. As for the last one, I'm not sure an MBA is really what you need to move to FO. MBA is about general management. You don't need that to become a trader/structurer/sales! Have you looked at CFA and CIIA? Besides, be aware that since the Jerome Kerviel affair, moves from back to front will be VERY VERY difficult Good luck!
