Chaps,Would be MOST obliged for info on the salary range for a newly-hired CS Managing Consultant (C4 in your categorisation, I believe).Trust me, I've searched already on this site and elsewhere, and didn't find the required. Any chance of dropping a line with a simple answer (e.g. £x to £y rather than "aren't you familiar with Google" type of answers), I would be very gtrateful

Believe me, senior CGers (from C4 to VP) are the most secretive on this forum in regards to there pay.I have never seen them provide indicative info but those from C1 to C3 are more willing.Something tells me the senior folks might be poorly paid.

So it seems... What's the big deal, anyway? Everybody else is willing to share info. Are you with CG yourself? Any insight? Thanks for replying anyway!

Chill out Mickey - you only posted the question yesterday. The more u hassle the less inclined people will be to help. From what I've heard the range is large - package (basic, flex & bonus) is 75 - 100...

Thanks a lot Billy Bob - really appreciate you getting back to me. I may only have posted this particular question yesterday, but this is the THIRD thread I've launched about the same issue - the others sank without a trace. When the replies you do get are of the "google it, stupid" variety, it can be frustrating...Cheers!

First, there was an assessment centre for all the grades - it involved a group exercise aimed at prioritising a hypothetical company's business-improvement strategies. At the later stages, there was a case study around a physical problem - something to do with water levels displaced by a solid body. The trick was to determine the net effect of the various forces at play. The idea was to test logical thinking rather than business acumen etc. Hope this helps.

forgot to mention, in some practices they have introduced mandatory business development targets at C4 level eg. 0.5m. Historically, there was many C4ers who go away with a bit of staff management and leading small assignment pieces

I'm no C4, so I can't comment from experience - but I do have it on good authority that in some circumstances C4s can make up to 100k. I've also heard of C3s earing close to 80k. So 55-80k for a C4 sounds low - I would say add 25% to both ends of that range. One thing's for sure, our pay bands are wide, and as an experienced new joiner you're well placed to come in high in your band.

Many thanks both metalbrum and ezra - now I have a much clearer idea of what would constitute reasonable expectations.
