Without knowing which area at least (within IT I mean) it would be hard to say. Progression is pretty much straight forward, there is a career development plan - up to you to chase it though, HR aren't the best to support it. Training is straight forward - if its relevant to your project, chances are you'll get it, but out of that scope, its pitiful. Culture is very friendly, there's no back-stabbing or trying to out do each other. There is the usual PR propaganda being passed down from management, it really depends on which area within IT/Tech you are in as to what the team are like - it can vary from being tutted if pack up at 4:50, or you can be the only one in at 4:45 while rest of team have gone home... Wouldn't want to say there are double standards, but each department has their own rules. As long as the work gets done though... Sorry I cant be more specific, but I would say it is a good firm to work for even if the industry is not growing as much as it once was.
