Probably in the region of £79,456 - £87,890However, of course, this depends on age, relevent experience, performance orientation at interview and case-study sophistication. Pay is comparable to other firms, however hours can be gyrating and uncertain.ZB

by,Do you have bricks for brains? You don't work for ACN do you? Of course I mean fours after university. Fours years after MBA you can expect six figures. There are major pointers on BCG: it heavy and persistent reliance on analtyical rigour, process co-ordination ambiguity tolerance in thier problem solving approach. Futhermore, all strat firms a-priori style approach to strategy formulation, and delivery strategy is not to everyone's liking.ZB

Hey zb you dickhead, there is no need to be so rude. Especially seeing as you appear to have major trouble spelling anything other than one syllable words.

ZB either you are in fact very junior in your firm and looking to validate the sacrifices you make in your lonely life - and I suspect transferring the lack of recognition and respect you experience at work onto others on this board, or else you are perhaps suffering both Aspergers and Tourettes, and are in fact no more than some analyst savant kept in a small room somewhere to process data but never included in social events, conversations etc around the office. Your lack of social intelligence would imply that you are both junior and never destined to move up the ranks. Of course you will now come back and tell me you are CEO of McKinsey, a non exec board adviser to Shell and invented the internet.

To structure this debate, these are the titles during your 4 first years post-mba at BCG:Year 1-2: Consultant, USD 140K packageYear 3-4: Project Leader, no idea on exact numberYear 5-...: Principal, than partner after at least 3, mostly 5 years. Note: A career isn't 100% predefined, but the time spans given are good guidelines imho. So, after 4 years, you are either a 2nd year PL or a 1st year principal.Fact: BCG raises your salary by 5% every 6 months. The 5% is confirmed for the lower ranks at least - let's assume the exact percentage stays like this throughout the ranks.Fact: Big raise every promotion.Estimate: 25% raise consultant => PL and PL=> Principal (This 25% includes the 5% 'standard' raise.)This yields the following guesstimate for your BCG package 4 years out of your MBA:(Every line is 6 months of time.)Package Raise in %140000 5147000 5154350 5162067,5 25202584,375 5212713,5938 5223349,2734 5234516,7371 25 <= 2nd year PL293145,9214 5 <= First year principal307803,2175 5323193,3783 5339353,0472 5356320,6996 5374136,7346 5There you have it, my best guess is USD 235-295K.Note: Bonus becomes more significant as well as variable as you move up. Guarantueed part of package will rise slower, expected bonus quicker over time.Hope it helps.Reflection: In reality it might be a bit more lucrative, since the principal-partner pay gap with my numbers.
