Hi there,I am considering a career move into consulting, but what exactly does management consulting mean...? do people focus on HR, strategy, change management...or must we know, and will we be involved in projects where you must know all of the above...?cheers

"Consulting" can mean just about anything to do with advising businesses on their performance, operations, strategy etc. The question is what skills, experience and contacts do you have? Do you have experience or contacts in a particular sector or industry? Do you have particular analytical or technical skills? Do you have sound knowledge of a particular market or region?Those are the kind of things that are going to enable you to move into consultancy if you're already an experienced professional. Anything else is just detail.
