Hi all,Having interviewed and failed to secure any actual strategy jobs, will be starting with ACN Analyst Consulting Group. Is that it for my strategy prospects? Read somewhere on here that with ACN unless it's the Strategy stream, chances of MBBB are out. Is this true? Does this stand for all the other strat firms too? Or is it worth applying again come milkround and taking it all on the chin again?Cheers in advance,Amber

You haven't 'had it' but what you should do is within the analyst consulting group get on some of the MCIM roles/projects (i.e. those that fall under human performance, strategy, supply chain and so on) and get alligned with that group for promotion to consultant. This will make your cv look much better than it would if you were configuring SAP for the first 2 yrs.At that point you could start thinking about business school for the end of C1/C2 stage. Accenture have a good rep with places like Insead and many go to the US schools too. From there you could leverage a move to a strat firm. Read the other posts about strat on here first before getting too hung up on strat though!Regardless of what part of Acn you are in, despite what you read on here, employers are receptive to it. I'm in the ACG and have been interviewing with various 'City' firms and it defo helped me.

Anon, thanks for the advice. How easy have you found it to influence what projects you got put on? I know a few people who got stuck in their first (assigned) role for pushing 2 years, don't want to have my hands tied for so long but have heard you can't influence first role...If you don't mind me asking, what 'City' firms have you been interviewing with? And for experienced roles or grad entry ones?Ta

I found it quite easy but I do know others who, as you say, have been stuck doing the same stuff for a few years. The roles I applied for are in sales etc. and for graduate jobs, not experienced hire.
