Dear all,I am in the final year of my degree now. currently sort of torned between 2 ideas now, and searching for some true and honest advice from fellow audience here.I have recently received an offer from EY to join their PAS service. I have attended lots of investment banking interviews, but sadly, none of them is successful. I am thinking of joining PAS, and explore various opportunities within consulting services, then go into investment banking later on. But can someone tell me if the experience gained in PAS can be used for investment banking later on???Please let me know your thinking ASAP,k?Many thanks in advance!!

hi graham, you'll be hard pushed to get into an investment bank if you are coming from a programme advisory experience background. at the very least i would suggest FS in any of the big 4 and this still wouldn't guarantee investment banking...i'd ask you what you really want to get out of your career. PAS is specific to advising on large programmes, risk management, project management, that kind of thing. this is quite far away from investment banking...so not sure how you ended up going to interviews in both arenas?let me know if i can provide you with any more advice....have you made a decision yet? cheers

Graham, Got to agree with Anon - except for really general skills like people management, a bit of project and budget work, reporting, presentations etc I would Programme Advisory is a totally differnent specfic skill set to IB, so unfortunately, not very transferable. If you want to do IB, get into IB...
