Hi,I've got a telephone interview coming up for BT Professional Services (consulting, project management and business improvement). Can anyone share any experience? Also, I'm coming from an okay uni (Manchester) and will have a 2:1 in June. My A-levels are poor at BBDcc. Where else would people recommend that I apply? You need BBB for Big4, and no chance with top tier. I'm looking for somewhere decent, reasonably big and in and around London.Sorry for the long post, any help welcome,John

I've got a telephone interview with them too, so would love to hear some advice! Also, does anyone know the full package? On the website it says "from £26,000" but this for all areas, including HR. Does anyone know the specific figure for Professional Services?I read on here in another post that bonus is guaranteed at 7.5%, but can rise to 15% in year one.£28,550 guaranteed (£27,950 + £600 relocation/handshake) and £30,500 if you do well seems good for what isn't a very desireable firm/role in some people's opinion

I haven't had the interview yet. From what I've seen and heard from BT, it looks like a great programme, but that's obviously the way that they'd tell it. I'd really like to hear anything about BT consulting that people on here have seen/heard.

BTGS Grad

Telephone interview is done by ACN and competancy based. They ask relatively detailed questions regarding your knowledge of BT. A scan of their website and a few hours digging for info and you should be fine. The package does range.HR grads get paid the worst (circa 25k) and finance grads get paid the most (circa 29k).The relocation allowance is NOT a handshake. There are all sorts of hoops you have to jump through to claim it (reciepts from rental co's and letting agents). They do offer a £1500 interest free loan.As far as I'm aware, the bonus %age varies, but the main bands are 5% and & 7.5%. You get a max of double this if your a superstar. The BT grad programme is OK, not great, but not (too) bad. They will drum this into til you're sick, but you really do have to network (and sometimes fight) to get the role you want. Overall, it's ok, not amazing, not even close to ACN grad offering. If you can get something else, go for it. If not, you maybe slightly disappointed, depending on where your interests lie.Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. It's not my dream job, but is something I could see myself doing for a couple of years and then trying for better. With my grades and experience, I doubt I have a chance at ACN or similar. Are you based in London? Is the work mostly internal consulting, or do you get to go out and meet clients?

Hi all,the information that has been posted on this thread do far has been really helpful so thanks to all who contributed.I understand that BT Graduate professional services stream does only a little consultancy work - and mostly internal stuff. Hence, I'm wondering what really goes on on the program. Does the management consultancy part of the program sit in BT Global Services? Also, what does project management and business improvement really mean at BT and which departments are they situated in?Thanks in advance for you help. Also, anyone know how many are going to be recruited into professional services this year? I heard about half the places a couple of years ago, so about 60, were the professional services intake.

Hey BTapplicantproservices,How far into the application stage are you? I heard that BT are taking 240 graduates this year, but I have no idea how this relates to each area
