HI For all PA Consulting C Level Consultants on this board - How much bonus are you expecting this year? Its my first year here and the responses to whoever I have spoken to face-to-face have been very varied. So I thought people might speak more openly anonymously. If I had to take a guess I would say 10-15% and I am in GOV. Thanks

Last year when I was a C for 6 months and a PC for the other 6 months, my bonus was just over 40%. Bonus's at PA vary a lot - from 0 (if you get a score of 1) to 40+ if you get a 4. It varies between practice to practice, and person to person, so the above is my experience as opposed to a guide. I am not in Government by the way, I'm in one of the commercial practices.

40% does sound very nice, though I guess its probably because you did exceedingly well, as your promotion clearly demonstrates. I am hoping for a 2 or 3 Rating and would be happy with anything between 15-20% and very disappointed if its in single digits. Thanks for your reply.

"One of the commercial practices" - I like that!Remember 40% of not much is still not very much. Especially after deductions.

"Remember 40% of not much is still not very much" - If you didnt negotiate a good salary when you joined or during your Annual Appraisal, you can hardly blame the company for your mistake. I work for them and I think they are decent paymasters.

A rough guide seems to be 10% for a 2, 20% for a 3 and 40% plus for a 4.Based on the last 2 years anyway.

I'd agree with roughly "10% for a 2, 20% for a 3 and 40% plus for a 4"I'd also agree with "40% of not much is still not very much." PA is, on the whole a very poor payer. The bonus can make up for it in a bad year, but you only have a finite amount of control over utilisation and at consultant ranks, utilisation is all that counts. period.

That's the model, median base, decent bonus. I have friends from university at 8 different consultancies, consistently annual package has been number 3 or 4 in the list of us over 6 years, if we were to take an hourly rate I would be number 1. Easily. PA has mor room for negotiation than you think, especially for high performances, that you just sit there and accept what’s proposed to you says more about your failings than PA's.
