Hi,Im doing a PhD and thinking about getting into consultancy. Can anyone tell me roughly how much time of the year would an analyst/consultant spend in london if based there. I dont want to travel all the time and figured a lot of the work would be done at the london hqs of client firms. Is this the case?

This depends on the client, industry and the company you work for.I have worked in London for the last 6 months and Manchester the 6 before that. I have friends who've worked from our office the whole time and I've friends who've been to about 10 countries.I'd say as a general rule some of the financial services consulting jobs may be more likely to be london based.
