Hi all,I want to introduce myself first. I am a new graduate from Turkey, had a BS in one of the top universities in Turkey. After graduation, I have joined one of the well-known multinational FMCG companies as a assistant brand manager.I would like to shape my career as a MC, so I am on a deep research right now. I got an offer from one of the top-IBs in London office, as a management trainee in operations. My questions start here. I don't know anything about UK's job market. Is it hard to get an offer from these big-banks, even in operations department? What do UK recruiters think about a person like me and my position in the bank? Those any of you who got an MBA from top business schools, how likely is it to get in after 3-4 years of experience in the bank for me? My current level in Turkey is well above average, and I am wondering if I will be better-off or not when I am relocated to London.RegardsCem

Another Turk

Dear Cem, Let me say a few things to you as a fellow Turk who currently lives and works (in a bad company) in London... You've landed a jackpot... I can't find a proper job here even with an MBA from a very good university in USA, but only with 2-3 years at that bank every company or top 10 universities in the world will give you scholarships to study at their universities if you play your cards right. My advice... accept the offer from the investment bank in London, stay a few years, then look at your options as you will have too many of them...Worst case, you'll do 1-2 years and any big company in Turkey or even any other country will get you as you are most probably below 24-26 now and will be coming with FMCG and IB experience...Good luck.
