Its a lot safer that drink and those hangovers and weight problems associated with it.May I reccomend 5am on the way from The airport to San Antonio, downside is that James blunt is usually there, however he is quite a pleaseant chap.

Fabric/Turnmills till 6am, then hit Egg until 11am. Darkened rooms and people munching pills - just like playing pacman.

As long you have a trust worthy dealer cos you never know what your taking. In Egg, you can get hold of Charlie or some brown. Heck you can even get some Crystal M!

OK I love raves and support freedom of choice, but pls stop glamourising drugs, kids. Drug culture may be cool, but tipping little packets of toxic waste down your throat isn't. Eat salads and drink Evian, and look beautiful instead.

Amazing, I'm suprised good ol' Tony hasn't removed this yet. It's good to see that some consultants do have a sense of humour/life. What company do you work for raver, I'll come and party with you.

To Gulp - Would you say that the following long-term effects of drug misuse are characteristic of someone who has a "sense of humour/life"?Fatal kidney and lung disorders Possible brain damage Depression Hallucinations Disorganized lifestyle Permanent psychological problems Violent and aggressive behavior Weight loss Insomnia Behavior resembling paranoid schizophrenia Decreased social life Malnutrition Poor coping abilities Disturbance of personality development Lowered resistance to illnesses Liver damage Stroke Death

I'd have to agree with the anti drugs sentiment on this thread. The 'gang' I knocked around with were into this lifestyle back in the early 90's and 15 years later you'd be hard pushed to find one person who would do the same again. The differing degrees of how we were affected ranged from the disruptive through to the terminal. There's a reason why there illegal.

Sophie, everyone is aware that there are potential risks associated with Drugs, but no doubt all of the symptoms you quote, are associated with alcohol abuse also.Your point about glamourising drugs. I would be in wholehearted agreement with you if this were the CBBC website. I doubt however, that any of the posters here, will suddenly launch themselves into a 'glamourous' crack habbit, based on this thread. Come on Sophie, bear in mind the audience here!

Incidentally, I actually no longer take drugs, haven't since my mid 20s. I personally dont enjoy it anymore, but lots of people do, and do so responsibly as well. That, in my opinion, does not constitute, glamourising, it's just a fact of life

What you seem to be listing little Soph is drug abuse, not drug use. The ability to alter consciousness, in my opinion, is liberating and exhilarating. Dancing is liberating and exhilarating. Many people –although not all- I’ve met who actually want to engage in these activities (not habitually) are interesting. You can shove out lists all you want; frankly, some of the symptoms in that little gem of knowledge are likely to be symptomatic from a spate in consulting. If I am going to get depression, then I'd rather have it after a dose of hedonism. So, sir, that’s just my deluded opinion. Can I recommend the ‘Doors of Perception’ for some light reading next time you’re tired of salads and domestic bliss?

Drugs = If you must use them to find happiness and escape from reality then by all means do. However, best to see if you can do it in other ways first that actually add to the richness of life rather then diminish it.

Fair enough MC, I agree. But how would taking, acid for example, in non-toxic, controlled amounts detract form the richness and diversity of life? If anything, it adds to it. Greatly.

MC, I don't think anyone is saying, that they need drugs to find happiness, or escape from reality. Why do people always assume that this is the only reason people take them?? Another, view could be that they can be bloody great fun!!!having indulged in the past, I'd say that drugs (like many other experience - travel for example) have added hugely to the richness of life
