I've heard rumours that ACN strategy is a bit of a sinking ship and is having difficulty bringing in new business. Any insiders care to shed any light on this, or is it not true? Ive got an interview for strategy there and would appreciate any info on this....

Not a sinking ship at all... in fact there is a lot of good work going on and a renewed focus on doing pure "strategy" tather than IT related work. FS is a little slow but we all know why that is...

ACN Strat is going from strength to strength and the work is pretty intereting now. Its been a good year.

What about Management Consulting in general at Accenture? Is this group strong?

I'm an analyst but do change management/human performance work and will move to the management consulting group when promoted.The management consulting roup is going from strength to tstrength and the firm are really keen to grow it and are winning work when competing with big name firms.How well the brand carries i'll only be able to tell when i apply for new jobs shortly. I'd love to get in to a strategy firm, perhaps not m/b/b but next rung down. I think the brand name is improving for the MC work we do though yes.

anon I read your post and shuddder. You are not exactly sending out the right messages... "apply for new jobs shortly"... ehem. Strat is becoming quite distinct from the rest of the ACN organisation and competing in a different league both for people and projects.

Hi MCIM,I'd like to join the strategy practice and am currently in the Analyst Consulting Group. It's quite difficult to get on strategy projects though especially as all my managers are in CRM. Any tips for how to allign myself?!

You really just need to get your face known and to get in with a Senior Exec (not essential they are in Strategy) who feels able to sponsor you.While I cant offer a fail safe solution I would say its important to demonstrate your desire to move into Strategy to everyone you encounter in the organisation. Talk about it, explain it, demonstrate it, show passion and approach all the work you are given with a "strategy" mindset. Hopefully then any potential you have will be recognised.

Thanks for the quick reply MCIM.I'm at one of our largest energy clients so hopefully there will be opportunities here I can speak with a s.exec about over the coming months. As far as i know there aren't just now.
