I have recently applied to Deloitte's Graduate Scheme for Strategy Sep '08. I took the online numerical and verbal test last week - Thursday8th, before the deadline they gave me of Friday9th. I still have not heard back (now the 16th), does anyone know how long it usually takes?A mate of mine took his on the Tuesday before and heard back two days later (it was a 'NO') and I am wondering why mine should take so much longer, with 7 days gone...Has anyone else in my position heard back?ThanksJStone

The way it works is slightly more complicated. If your score is neither excellent or rubbish (ie. in the top or bottom 15% percentile) then they will wait until everyone has taken the online tests and create a 'norm' score. So this basically means your results are in the middle bracket and you have to hope you are above average. However, it was over a month ago Deloitte came to our Uni and they only had 4 strategy positions left then so I presume you would be lucky if they had anything now. They won't admit that to you yet though!

Appreciate the info MA Student...I kinda guessed this might be the case...floating in the amber pile at the moment...fingers crossed. Not sure about this only 4 left chat however...from my experience the staff companies send to careers events and the information they give out should sometimes be taken with a pinch of salt, as they tend to exaggerate here and there, for whatever reason.Whatever the case...hopefully I wil be one of the four then ;)

It is highly unlikely that you will be offered a strat position because they fill up the quickest. However they will still interview you to see if you are the deloitte "fit", and if you tick all their boxes you will probably be offered a position in TI or EA, whichever they need to fill fast

Unsure about this chat about all the jobs being gone already - a mate of mine got a strat job with deloitte in london which was not confirmed until Feb last year after his interview in Jan...hum.

I sent my application for Deloitte Strat about 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing. I would have thought they at least would have invited me to a test, especially as I have had interest from elsewhere.

Yes, he applied for consulting (don't know what part - not IT) and they said it was full and offered him ERS. PWC did the same, offered him some public/private thing.KPMG on the other hand (he has a thing for the big 4 it seems....) accepted him, but said that they had no vacanices left that year. They said he could join a year later if he wanted, which he did. But that was for Corporate Finance - I don't know if that makes a big difference.
