Are people that work for Accenture generally happy with their job? Do you actually like working for them? Are you in it for the long term or simply to work for them for a couple of years and then move on? Are you content (happy might be too strong a word) with the pay and future prospects? Is there a good social life at Accenture?Lots of questions I guess but I am thinking of applying to the C&HT Consulting group and wanted to gauge opinions of current workers.Thanks. Hopefully this will not turn into non Accenture employees bashing them as I am interested in those that work or worked for them.

Its like IBM, JPMorgan, Chase or any other large corporation and epends on the work your assigned to. If your assigned to rot in some MOD job for the rest of your life and move to Acc, get involved in real work then Acc is great. If its the other way rund and you move from an Acc MOD contract to IBM/JPMorgan then thats great.Horses/Courses

Like any other job, even MBBB will have people that are not happy with the place and I speak from experience. So plan, set you expections right and the grass is not always greener on the other side.So to answer your question, someare happy and some are sad and same applies to any other firm you go to.

I have worked 10 years for Accenture, for FSI and C&HT, currently with one of the Big 4.Accenture is great by all means. you will not see the difference unless you try it for good time and then try other firms.Yes, you may work alot of hours, yes you may have several things to do and expectations are high... but you will get what you deserve at the end and over that you will get an experience that worths double similar one in another well known consulting firm if not more. One very unique thing in Accenture that you will never find any where is the knowledge Capital they have and the methodologies you can use.

I am basically happy (I'm in US ACN, not UK, if that makes a diff to anyone). I'm not crazy about my current role, but it will be over soon, and I will move on to another. On the whole, I like the culture in ACN, and with very few exceptions, the people have been awesome.

In my opinion, it depends on what group you are in at Accenture. If you are in the management and strategy consulting group, you will gain business skills, transferable to great industry jobs and/or business school. Systems integration consulting can be interesting if you are staffed on a great client, but you will not gain the business skills like in MCIM. Therefore, many people are unhappy because they want to switch from SI&T to MCIM... and for good reason.

The last project I worked on until I left acn - at around Midday, almost everyone had their CV up on the screen. Also, of everyone I know who has left in the last few years, everyone has felt like they have now got control over their lives and that they don't have to deal with the usual BS every 6 months to justfy their existence. It's a horrid place - just a good stepping stone for a new grad who wants something on their cv.

acn survivor,Where did you and the others you know leave to go to? I've been here 1 1/2 years and am considering my options. I'd like to do something more entreprenurial where reward is more closely linked to effort.
