I keep hearing is said that one of the main exit option for a stratergy consultant at a good firm is to go into IB. I hear this from this forum, career guidance book and numerous consultant I have met at firms. It would be great to hear from anyone with experience of the switch. Is it possible, and if so what roles do ex consultants take on in IBD departments? Is it possible from a wide range of consultancies or just MBB? What are the hours like for someone with 3-4 years consultanting experience - as hard as grad IB jobs? Do many people to MBAs first and then make the switch, is this a prerequisite?I know there are a lot of people out there interested in having these questions answered. Love to hear peoples thoughts.
